By Kylie Exline on October 15, 2016

When we leave the only thing we have ever known, education, we have to find ways to move on. What this means is that we have to find a job. Now, none of us desire just any ole job that allows us to live paycheck to paycheck, but rather a job that we can enjoy and learn from on a daily basis.

There are plenty of great jobs out there; we just have to be on the lookout. To find out which jobs college students are competing over, continue to read below. And then question yourself on whether any of these sound like a plan for you.

“Be your own boss” jobs

Regardless if you are an entrepreneur or not, many of us wish to be our very own boss. We dread having to listen to others and to slave away to their orders. We figure that we can do things on our own and manage our separate team of people. Basically, we know how to be a boss and we are semi-good at it, mainly due to the number of bad ones we have shared in the past.

For the best jobs where you are your own boss, you should do what makes you happy. This includes jobs likes administrative work, event promoters, interior designers, and personal trainers. This is all on your own time, your personal schedule, and what honestly works best for you.

This also means that you can decide to work from home, rent office space, or actually lease a building with employees. It is pretty much up to you, given you are the boss. However, keep in mind that if something heads south, it is your hand on the burner. And the good news is that there is always room for entrepreneurs in this world, so forget about all of those non-entry level jobs.

High paying jobs

Obviously when graduating from a university, our number one hope is that we are happy with our job selection, and that we receive a very nice salary that comes with plenty of benefits and days off. Well, we can continue dreaming. But honestly, who does not want a high paying job? And one that they actually enjoy at that?

High paying jobs are quite prevalent; we just have to be aware of them. Typically, the best include being an anesthesiologist, surgeon, orthodontist, and basically anything in the medical field. For those of us who would rather stay out of medical, then there is still an array of options.

You can be a marketing manager, a pilot, a professor, a sales representative, or even a New York Times best selling author. These are all possible if truly desired. Plus, most of them also come with benefits and opportunities to further your success. Why stop if you can prosper?

Online jobs

Depending on the individual, many of us would prefer staying away from technology, whereas many others demand it. College students are wanting online jobs because of the time they are afforded. As opposed to taking online courses, we are on the opposite end and obtain the control in the situation. And we have to admit that it feels quite nice.

Many online jobs that exist include being a professor, a professional blogger, a reseller, and even a virtual assistant.
These allow you to have a ton of agency in what you do and how you do it. You can create schedules you want, and you can even stay home if you wanted. Or you can bring your handy laptop literally anywhere with you and be well on your way.

Online jobs are great because with most graduates being under the age of 25, we want to enjoy our youth. This means that we strive to build adventurous memories, reach success, and have a ton of fun along the way. This also allows us to travel really anywhere because we do not have to be physically present for our job given it is solely online. How nice.

Leaving college is stressful for a number of reasons. We are leaving something that we have been taught since the age of five and in search of a job that will bring us both joy and success. As college students, we are used to following orders and meeting deadlines. We are also aware of who is superior and what needs changing when it comes to certain things.

College students are hoping for a job that grants them the option of being their own boss and having no one to answer to. We also really want a job that pays well and can help us get out of this student debt that college helped us in getting. Then there are online jobs that exist which allow us to travel and truly be happy with our decisions. Regardless, finding the perfect job for you may take time, but still continue to fight for it.
